Air conditioning

Air conditioning works with a compressor, a condenser in front of the radiator, an evaporator inside the dashboard and a refrigerant gas. The most common faults are gas leaks (especially at the condenser, which is exposed to stones) and compressor failures.

What to do

If the air is getting less and less cold, there is usually a leak: recharging without repairing it only delays the problem. Run the air conditioning for a few minutes from time to time, in winter as well, to lubricate the compressor and the seals. A damp smell means it is time to clean the evaporator and change the cabin filter.
