Software updateFord Motor Company · 2026 · Ref. 25SC4
Recall 25SC4: software limit on battery capacity
Kuga PHEV units built between 2 August 2019 and 28 November 2023; different sources put the affected volume at around 166,989 units worldwide (autonext.co, September 2026) or 68,810 in Germany alone (finanznachrichten.de, August 2026), which suggests the figure has varied depending on the date consulted. The update limits the battery's usable capacity (Ford estimates 12% less electric range on average; owners who have measured the actual charge report up to 17-30%) and requires a visit to the workshop, without replacing the battery.[11][12][13]
